Current Events – June 2022

Perry, FL – Buckeye Community Federal Credit Union has been providing great financial products and services that benefit the Taylor County community for over 65 years.  We understand that quality service is often hard to find and the need exists for affordable financial services throughout our surrounding communities.  It is for this reason BCFCU applied, and recently received approval, to expand our footprint across North Florida by adding seven counties to our field of membership. This expanded our service area to include thirteen total counties.

Membership to BCFCU is now open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor or Wakulla Counties, Florida.  In addition, spouses of person who died while within the field of membership of this credit union; employees of this credit union; volunteers in the community; members of their immediate family or household; and organizations of such persons are eligible for membership.

In an effort to preserve the legacy and heritage of Buckeye Community Federal Credit Union, the credit union has sought to trademark this name in Florida for exclusive use in Taylor County.  The Buckeye Community name will still be visible both inside and outside our main office in Perry, as a division of Blue Coast Federal Credit Union.  In our communities, Blue Coast Federal Credit Union will be represented with the BCFCU brand that is so trusted by our membership.  The Blue Coast FCU name will resonate across our expanded communities, while allowing the Buckeye Community name to continue.

BCFCU’s goal is to align our products and services with the needs of the communities we serve, this evolution in the life of our credit union will lead to an even broader range of services, more locations to serve our members, and ultimately a better return for our member owners, in the form of better rates and higher dividends. With this expansion, BCFCU now serves nearly 11,000 members at three locations, and just under $140 million in total assets.  BCFCU now operates offices in Perry, Madison and Tallahassee, FL.  We look forward to serving you for many years to come!
